karen-shootingCreative expression takes so many forms — the every-day artist shows up in those moments of connection with another, the flash of awe at this amazing world, carefully chosen words that heal and encourage, crafting a life of passion and meaning. We create the world we live in by the words we choose…I believe this deeply.

As Emerson wrote, “Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that in all your reading have been to you like the blast of triumph out of Shakespeare, Seneca, Moses, John,  and Paul.” And then the thought — match those blasts of triumph, those soulful reflections, heartful expressions with photographs!!

A definite “late adopter”, I recently succumbed to an iPhone … for the camera! So, some of the photos are truly every-day. By gathering four of my favorite camera carrying artists-of-being-alive to expand the photo library (so appreciative for their generous sharing), you can enjoy their creative eye, their abilities to capture the world in such a way that touches the part of us that loves to explore. Please visit the photographers page for more information about each of them! When you place your cursor over the picture, the location and photographer will be visible.

Hope this brings your day a bit of inspiration…an opportunity for reflection, a fond memory re-kindled, a quote that speaks to your heart in a moment of need, a smile… a desire to start your own Bible where you capture the words of your heart and soul. Write. Express. Create. Influence. Love…

Oh…and there’s rhythm to the postings — by the days of the week. If it’s Thursday, the topic will be “Nature’s Play & Abundance”, on Tuesday… “Transitions & Change”. Each day has a topic reflected in words and photos. “An artist must possess Nature. He must identify himself with her rhythm…which will later enable him to express himself in his own language” (Henri Matisse). Rhythm, words, photos…that’s why Words of Art.

You may want to add music! (smile)
